Execution

Forty-one fixes. Twenty-nine ask first.

Burnish reads your whole catalogue, works out what each product is missing, and writes the fixes back.

Twelve act. Twenty-nine ask.

Every one of the forty-one named fix types is one or the other — and the gate is the default.

Approval-gated

29 of 41 · nothing ships without you

What moves it
Your click in the approval queue. Below Autopilot, this lane is every lane.
Before it writes
Six dependency checks. A tripped check shows you what it would have overwritten.
What can stop it
You, with the before-and-after in front of you.
Afterwards
One click undoes it. The before-state is kept as permanent evidence.

Auto-safe

12 of 41 · deterministic writes

What moves it
Autopilot, from level 2 up. Below that, even these twelve wait for you.
Before it writes
The same six checks. A tripped check sends even an auto-safe fix to the queue.
What can stop it
A confidence floor — variant consistency under 0.90 or type normalisation under 0.95 turns the fix into a proposal.
Afterwards
The same undo, the same evidence. Thirty-seven of the forty-one types carry a registered rollback.
Ships at Autopilot

Before anything is written.

The quiet overwrite is the danger. A field is rarely just a field.

  1. Six dependency checks

Smart-collection rules, Merchant Center feeds, Facebook catalogs, foreign metafield namespaces, occupied custom labels, structured data already on the page.

  2. A tripped check queues

It moves to the approval queue, where you see what it would have overwritten.

  3. Two fixes carry a confidence floor

Variant consistency will not fire below 0.90, product-type normalisation below 0.95. Under it, a fix is proposed.

  4. Your theme is never edited

Storefront work ships through a Theme App Extension, never your theme files.

One click undoes it.

With the three limits on that stated, rather than left for you to discover.

What is kept

Every write saves the previous state first. Evidence rows are kept as long as your store is — there is no window to run out of.

What one click undoes

Thirty-seven of the forty-one types have a registered undo, which reads the saved before-state.

Where it will not

No registered strategy; still pending; already rolled back; or the state exceeded 256 KB, which Burnish reports rather than hides.

You decide how much rope.

Four levels, set by you. Every paid plan can reach the top one.

L0 · Observer

Reads and scores. Zero mutations, ever.

L1 · Reviewer

Proposes everything, writes nothing until you approve. Stores without a plan are capped here.

L2 · Autopilot

The auto-safe twelve apply themselves; anything riskier goes to the queue.

L3 · Full agent

The widest lane, and it needs your store’s explicit consent before it turns on.

Eight components, all of them yours.

Each has a published weight and a score ceiling. A product counts as AI-ready at 80.

Projected lift = Σ max(0, (ceiling − score) × weight). It is what a publish and a re-scan actually realise, which is why it is never the rounder, larger number.

Everything is read.

Your plan governs how much of it is rewritten.

The scan is not the allowance. Burnish scores your catalogue in full — whole-catalogue on every plan, up to a stated ceiling of 7,000 products — then spends your monthly budget where the projected lift is largest.

A dozen, as the app names them.

Twelve of forty-one, in five groups: 18 product · 9 content generation · 7 content · 4 technical · 3 collection.
