How Autopilot works
Fixes on your behalf
Autopilot lets Burnish apply safe, high-confidence fixes without you reviewing each one. You stay in control of how much it is allowed to do.
Trust levels
You choose how much autonomy to grant:
- Watch only. Burnish proposes fixes but applies nothing.
- Review each. You approve every change before it ships.
- Auto-publish low-risk. Burnish publishes the safe changes automatically and leaves the rest for you.
- Full autonomy. Burnish applies fixes across the categories you have enabled.
The higher levels unlock as you build trust, once you have approved enough changes yourself.
What counts as safe
Autopilot only acts when confidence is high. It applies a change automatically only for the fix types you have switched on, and only when the projected improvement clears a meaningful threshold. Anything below that, or in a category you have not enabled, waits for your review.
Staying in control
You turn Autopilot on or off, choose which fix types it may touch, and can pause it at any time. Every automatic change is logged and can be rolled back, exactly like a manual one.
A good starting point is Review each, then move to Auto-publish low-risk for the categories you trust most, like image alt text.
