Three ways to improve Discovery

When you are not being surfaced

If the assistants are not naming your store for the questions that matter, three moves have the most impact. Each one is tied to how Discovery actually scores you.

1. Close the catalog gaps

When you are not yet named, your score depends most on how well your catalog fits the question. A question like best supplements for energy only lifts you if your catalog genuinely covers energy products, with clear titles, full descriptions, and FAQs. Publishing your Burnish readiness fixes is the most direct lever.

2. Publish your manifesto

Your store manifesto tells Burnish what you want to be found for. Once it is published, the questions Burnish tracks bias toward your chosen angles, like sustainable fashion or budget gaming, instead of generic category questions. This points your whole discovery effort at the searches you care about.

3. Name your competitors

Comparison questions are nearly a third of the mix, but they only run when you have competitors on file. Adding the brands you compete with unlocks that lane, and helps Burnish judge how you stack up. Without competitors, that weight shifts to category questions, and you miss the comparison upside.

Start with high-volume questions you can realistically win, not niche long-tail ones. After you publish catalog or manifesto changes, your next scan re-measures your strongest opportunities first.
