Install Burnish on your store

Add Burnish to your store

Burnish installs from the Shopify App Store like any other app. From the listing, choose Add app. Shopify shows you a permission screen, and then Burnish opens right inside your Shopify admin. There is nothing to download, and no theme code to paste.

What Burnish asks permission to do

On the permission screen, Shopify lists the access Burnish needs. Each one maps to a specific job:

  • Products (read and write). Read your catalog and improve product titles, descriptions, image alt text, and SEO fields.
  • Content (read and write). Read your pages and blog, and publish FAQs and content fixes that answer what shoppers ask.
  • Product listings (read). Check how your products appear across your sales channels so nothing is missing.
  • Orders (read). Read order totals, currency, and timestamps to measure the revenue your changes earn. Burnish never reads customer names, emails, or addresses.
  • Web pixel (write) and customer events (read). Install the Burnish first-party pixel and read storefront events, so it can connect AI-referred visits to sales. No personal data is collected.

Burnish reads only order totals and storefront events. It never accesses customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses, and never uses your data to train AI models.

What happens after you install

Once you approve access, Burnish sets up your store and opens a short welcome screen. From there you confirm consent for the AI providers Burnish queries, then run your first scan.

If you installed before

If you already use Burnish, you may see a Re-authorize banner on your dashboard after an update adds new access, such as the Burnish pixel. Click it to grant the new access in one step. Some access, like reading order totals for revenue attribution, is part of the Authority plan and above.
