What Reputation measures

How AI describes you

Reputation measures what the AI assistants say about your store once they mention it. Being found is Discovery; Reputation is about whether the description is correct and positive. Burnish scores it on three things.

Recognition must pass first; once recognized, sentiment and accuracy set the Reputation score.

Recognition

First, does the assistant actually mean you, and not a similarly named store? Recognition checks that the answer engages your real business, using your verified facts like your domain and company details to tell you apart from namesakes. Nothing else counts until you are recognized.

Sentiment

When you are recognized, how favorably are you described? Sentiment reads the answer in the context of the shopper's question and scores the bottom line. An answer that recommends you, even with a caveat, scores positively.

Accuracy

Finally, are the claims true? Accuracy checks specific statements about your returns, shipping, warranty, contact, and company details against the facts you have declared. Contradictions pull the score down, and claims it cannot verify simply do not count.

How they combine

Recognition comes first: if no assistant recognizes you, your Reputation score is 0. Once you are recognized, sentiment and accuracy together set how high it climbs, with sentiment weighted a little more than accuracy.

Because recognition gates everything, the first win is making sure assistants can tell your store apart from others. Your manifesto facts are what make that possible.
